Susan F Abid

Mrs. Susan F. Abid, also fondly known as Grandma, 70, passed away on February 20, 2025, in Snellville, Georgia. Born on May 24, 1954, in Atlanta, Georgia, Sue lived a life filled with love, laughter, and cherished moments with family and friends.

Sue was the beloved wife of Syed Abid and a devoted mother to her daughters Sabina Nichols and Christy Young, as well as her son-in-law Clay Young. Their home was always a place of warmth and joy, where Sue found immense happiness spending time with her grandchildren—Bo Young and Germany, Caleb, and Cooper Nichols. She also shared a close bond with her nieces Kheri Bussey and Sheri McLaughlin. In addition to her immediate family, Sue was surrounded by many more loving relatives and dear friends who will deeply miss her presence.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Frank and Evelyn Nix Ferris, as well as her sister Martha Preble.

Sue had a passion for bringing people together. Whether it was hosting gatherings by her pool, watching her daughter grow up on the ball fields, or enjoying friendly competition over games with loved ones, she embraced every opportunity to create lasting memories. Lunch outings with friends were another favorite pastime that brought joy to her days.

A visitation will be held on Wednesday, February 26, 2025, from 12:00 PM to 2:00 PM at Eternal Hills Funeral Home, located at 3594 Stone Mountain Hwy SW in Snellville, Georgia. A celebration of life service will follow at the same location starting at 2:00 PM. Afterward, family and friends are invited to gather for a reception at the home of Abid and Sue.

Sue’s kindness and love for those around them will be remembered always. May their memory bring comfort to all who knew them.
