Thomas Brown, age 94, of Athens Georgia, departed this life to the arms of Jesus on Saturday, March 24, 2018. The family will receive friends from 10 am to 11 am on Tuesday, March 27 at Eternal Hills Funeral Home, Snellville, Georgia. The funeral service will take place at 11 am in the chapel of Eternal Hills Funeral Home. Interment will be at the Gwinnett Memorial Gardens Cemetery in Lawrenceville immediately following the funeral service.
Mr. Brown was born in Belfast, Northern Ireland on January 21, 1924, and immigrated to Canada where he married his wife, Mona Brown and together they raised their family. After moving to the US, they spent most of their 65 years together in Andrews, North Carolina prior to living in Athens, Georgia for the past eight years. Mr. Brown’s mission in life was “to be a good soldier for the Lord.” His focus was always on what he could do for others, and he was at his happiest when surrounded by his family.
Tom was preceded in death by the love of his life, Mona Brown, and his son, Douglas (Krista) Brown, and is survived by his sons, Dennis (Sharon) Brown of Harrison TN, David(Cheryl) Brown of Trinity, AL, his daughter Mary Lynn (Greg) Munago of Lawrenceville GA, Krista’s loving husband, Jamil Elayan of Athens, GA and several beloved grandchildren and great grandchildren.
