Our beloved father, William Marion Lazenberry, 88, passed away peacefully Monday, April 1, 2019, surrounded by his loved ones. Mr. Lazenberry was born on May 5, 1930 in Atlanta, GA to the late Willie Lazenberry and Julia Porter.
Mr. Lazenberry attended David. T. Howard high school in Atlanta, GA. After high school he worked as a caddie at Ansley Golf Club and East Lake Country Club. After several years of holding various positions at the country clubs, he became an entrepreneur and opened his first night club, The Pink Pussycat, in the early 1960’s. He later opened The Black Bull nightclub on Bankhead Hwy and Mr. Q’s BBQ in Kirkwood Atlanta.
In April, 1954 he entered into holy matrimony with Jeniece Garner. In this union six children were born. He later married, Lorraine DiBenedetto. To this union, two children were born.
Survivors include daughter Joyce Lazenberry, son Pete Harris, daughter Sheryl Lazenberry, daughter Christy Lazenberry, daughter Misty Weems (Ricky), daughter Tara Williams (Anthony), daughter Pam Weems (Charles), son Christopher Lazenberry (Lisa), son Mark Lazenberry (Chrystal), daughter Kenya Matthews (Derrick), son Thor Lazenberry and a host of grandchildren and great grandchildren, sister-in-law and brother-in-law.
Mr. Lazenberry remains will be laid to rest in a private ceremony with his family, and in honor of his late wife, Lorraine Lazenberry in Savannah, GA on Saturday, April 13, 2019. The family will receive family and close friends on Saturday, April 6, 2019 at 258 Lily Cove Dr., Loganville, GA 30052.
