He was born in New Britain on Dec. 11, 1927, the son of the late Antonio and Concetta (Farace) Mazzarella. He served in the US Navy during the Korean Conflict. He was the owner of Lincoln Hair Design in New Britain. He was past president of the Barber Union and also served as the Barber Commissioner for the State of CT. As a Southington resident since 1964, he was a member of the Planning and Zoning Commission and a parishioner of St. Dominic Church.
Anthony is survived by three sons and their wives, Anthony J. and Patricia of Southington, Thomas and Rita, Mark and Lisa all of Bristol, six grandchildren, Anthony Mazzarella, Stephanie and her husband Salvatore Spagna, Olivia, Salvatore, Matthew and Michael Mazzarella, three great grandchildren, Anthony P., Joseph and Ava Mazzarella and several nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by a sister Connie Smizer and a brother Salvatore Mazzarella.
Calling hours will be held on Thursday December 5, 2013 from 4 to7 p.m. at the DellaVecchia Funeral Home 211 N. Main St. in Southington with a wake service at 7 p.m. A Memorial Mass will be held at 11 a.m. on Friday at Holy Family Retreat Center 303 Tunxis Rd. in West Hartford, CT. Burial will be private and at the convenience of the family.
