

Candyce Lee (Martin) Longo, 76, of Southington, passed from this life on the bright and sunny morning of May 4, 2024 after a short but courageous battle with Dementia. Candyce left one life to begin another. She is finally at peace and joined by loved ones who passed before her. Candyce is survived by her son, Alfred Longo Jr. his wife Melissa and her grandchildren, Kayla Rae Longo, Ty Richard Longo and Jade Isabella Longo. Candyce is also survived by two great grandchildren, Isabella Angelique Perez and Aria Jade Badgley. Her love for her grandchildren and great grandchildren was her greatest joy. Surviving Candyce was her Aunt Beverly Lavigne and Uncle Robert Barnett. Candyce was one of twelve children. Her surviving siblings include, Reba Politz and her husband Paul, Michael (Mickey) Martin, Cathy Scoville, Toni Marino and her husband Richard, Mary Martin, Mark (Tim) Martin and Bettye-Jo Mackiewicz and her husband Scott. Candyce is also survived by dozens of nieces and nephews. Candyce was predeceased by her parents, James Martin Jr. and Bettye-Jo (Barnett) Martin, her husband Alfred Longo Sr. and four siblings, Joanne Hooper, Barbara Rabis, George Martino and James Martin III.
Candyce was born shortly after WWII and was raised during the 1950s and 1960s. It was during this time she developed a lifelong love for all things Elvis Presley. Anyone who had visited Candyce these last three years would see her living room walls covered with photos of family and Elvis memorabilia. Candyce was born a Christian and got reacquainted with her faith over ten years ago, attending Mass regularly at Saint Gregory’s, in Bristol CT. Candyce held several manufacturing jobs, including her longest tenure at Allied Controls in Plantsville CT. She also held numerous waitressing jobs and lastly as a caretaker for the elderly. Candyce finally found happiness and contentment in her later years. She was a lifetime resident of Southington and Bristol Connecticut, having also lived in Hawaii for two years. She will be missed by all who knew her. A memorial service and celebration of life will take place on Friday, May 10, 2024 at the DellaVecchia Funeral Home, 211 N.
