
Southington- Cataldo I. Mirisola, "Ky", 88, passed away peacefully Sunday April 1, 2007 at The Summit in Plantsville. He was the loving husband for 49 years of the late Helen (Macko) Mirisola. He was born in Pittston, PA on October 6, 1918, son of the late Gaetano and Marianna (Belcastro) Mirisola. He graduated from Pittston High School in 1936. Ky lived in New Britain for 25 years before moving to Southington, residing on Skipper Lane for 40 years. Ky was employed by New Britain Machine for over 20 years and then retired from Monarch Machine as a foreman after 20 years of service. After retirement he worked as a starter at Timberlin Golf Course until 4 years ago. He was an avid golfer and a lifelong Yankee fan. He was a parishioner of St. Dominic Church.
A loving, generous Dad and wonderful "Grandpa" he is survived by his five children, Marion Manware and her husband Gene, Veronica Stanek, Jack Mirisola and his wife Sharon, of Southington, Anthony Mirisola and his wife Phyllis of Bristol, and Angela Ceruti and her husband Joseph of Southington. He also leaves 16 grandchildren, Maria and Maury Mischel of New York City, Paul and Amy Manware of Southington, David and Stacey Manware of Cheshire, Robert and Cindy Manware of Fairfield, Karen Carbone and her fiancé Eric Kraut of Eden Prairie, MN, Susan and Michael Webber of Pawling, NY, Maryellen Palumbo of Southington, Amy and Craig Brown of Marshfield, MA, Michael and Melissa Mirisola, Mark and Leann Mirisola and Jeffery Mirisola of Southington, Andrea and Emily Mirisola of Bristol, Steven, Rachel and Jocelyn Ceruti of Southington, and 21 great-grandchildren. His sisters, Concetta Haze of New Britain, Vita Provenzano of Rome, NY, Jennie Latona of Green Acres, FL, and a brother Richard Mirisola of Bradenton, FL survive him. He also leaves several brothers and sisters in law and many loving nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his brothers Joseph and Dominic Mirisola and his son-in-law, Dennis J. Stanek, Sr.
The Funeral will be held Wednesday at 9:15 a.m.from the DellaVecchia Funeral Home, 211 N. Main St. to St. Dominic Church,1050 Flanders Rd at 10 a.m. for a Mass of Christain Burial. Burial will be at St. Thomas Cemetery. Calling hours will be Tuesday from 4-8 p.m.
