David Carpenter

He was born Feb 22, 1939 in Worcester, MA son of Grace (Fanning) Carpenter of Vero Beach, FL and the late Edwin Carpenter. He had retired from Wilcox Technical School as a custodian and in the past 3 years he was a substitute custodian for the Southington school system. He was a veteran of the Korean War Era serving in the U.S. Navy and was a member of the American Legion. He had been active for the past 4 decades with the Southington Northern Little League.

Besides his mother he is survived by his children, Bryant Carpenter and wife Colleen of Portland, Christopher Carpenter and wife Sharon of Medford, NJ and Laura Penta and husband Louis of Wellington, FL; his brothers, Brian Carpenter of South Carolina, Neil Carpenter of Vero Beach, FL and Bruce Carpenter of Japan, a sister Donna Jukonski of Westbrook; 5 grandchildren, Laura, Matthew and Katelyn Carpenter, Brady and Jake Penta; his closest friends Roland and Claire Derosier and their family of Southington and several nieces and nephews.

A Funeral service will be Monday 8 p.m. at the DellaVecchia Funeral Home, 211 N. Main St. Burial will be at the convenience of the family. Calling hours will be Monday from 4-8 p.m. Donations may be made in his memory to the Northern Little League, P.O. Box 125, Southington, CT 06489.
