It is with deep sorrow that we announce the passing of Elizabeth M. Golder who passed away peacefully at her home on April 1, 2021 at the age of 88. She was born on April 11, 1932 in E Plantation, ME to the late Daniel and Madeline (Brewer) Kinney.
Elizabeth was a homemaker who spent her whole life dedicated to her family. She always made every holiday special with great home cooked food, baked bread, cookies and cakes. Her famous canned goods and pickles were always the star attraction. She also enjoyed vegetable gardening, crafting braided rugs, and dress making. Elizabeth’s happiness and world centered on her daughters. She considered their successes as her life’s greatest accomplishment but for her daughters having Elizabeth as a mother was the highest achievement of theirs.
Elizabeth touched the hearts of young and old alike. She was giving and warm, forming lifelong friendships with those fortunate to be a part of her life. She was always there to offer her care for those in need. She has left us with her many memories, her kindness, her laughter and her smile. We will forever love you, Mom.
A devoted wife and mother, Elizabeth is survived by her children Patty DiMauro and son-in-law James of New Britain, and Sherry Hayden and son-in-law Gerald of South Windsor; sister, Barbara Collins of Blaine, ME and brother-in-law Carl Golder and sister-in-law Sandra of Woodstock New Brunswick, Canada. She also leaves many nieces, nephews, friends and family.
She was predeceased by her beloved husband Harley Golder of 60 years.
A very special thank you to Marlene Gainey for the exceptional care in which you gave to our mom. We want you to know that you’ll be a part of our family forever.
