
Born in South Meriden on January 12, 1932, she was a health aide at Ridgewood Convalescent Home and Family Services in Meriden.
She was a member of the Grace United Methodist Church. Gladys took great pleasure in volunteering for Bread for Life, making deserts for special meals and picking up supplies, she enjoyed going to the movies and going on Calendar house bus trips.
She is survived by 2 sons David Bishop of Southington and Jeffrey bishop and his wife Dyanna of Bristol, a daughter Linda Denton and her husband Keith of Richfield Springs, N.Y., a brother-in-law Robert Bishop, 3 sisters-in-law Virginia Clemens of New Hampshire, Claire Bishop of California, and Eleanor Jacobs of VA, 4 grandchildren, Jessica Bishop, Stephanie Bishop, Elizabeth Lockhart and John Lockhart, 3 cousins Elbertine Natrillo, Lester Johnson and Wayne Johnson.
She was predeceased by a son Carl W. Bishop.
A Memorial service will be held on Saturday June 2nd 2007 at 11 a.m. at the Grace United Methodist Church, 121 Pleasant St. Burial will be at Oak Hill Cemetery. There are no calling hours. DellaVecchia Funeral Home, 211 N. Main St. are assisting with arrangements.
