Gladys was a 1946 graduate of Lewis High School. In recent years, Gladys loved to read books and read so many that Ray had to keep a spreadsheet. He listed 493 books between 5/2019-4/2023. She enjoyed watching the birds on the bird feeder that Tom set up in the front window. Gladys always looked forward to her lobster birthday lunches with her son, Joseph. She also loved crossword puzzles, lighthouses, the beach, and polka dancing, trips to NYC with Melanie, Esther and her daughter, Tanya. When Melanie’s children were younger, she enjoyed babysitting and sleepovers.
The family would like to thank the wonderful caregivers who made her comfortable in the end. Sancha, Nova, Luciella, Antionette, Nejeay and Dawn will always be remembered for their compassionate care. Her being at home could not have happened without them. The family would also like to thank the nurses, especially Jeff and Kelly, CNA Lucielle from Hartford Healthcare at Home and volunteer Loni, who helped keep her company in recent months.
