

Mrs. Jacqueline (Stinson) Mala passed away peacefully with her family by her side on October 11th, 2023. She was the daughter of the late William M. and Clara Hayes Stinson. Born November 10, 1935 Jacqueline was the widow of Alfred R. Mala who passed away December 16th, 2013, after 57 years of marriage.
Jackie was a graduate of Naugatuck High School, class of 1953. She retired after 35 years of service from Uniroyal Chemical Company. Jackie was a member of the St. Mary’s Church Altar Society for many years and was honored for her service as a Eucharistic Minister. Jacqueline was a former member of the Naugatuck Women’s club and their dance troop. Jackie, along with her husband Al, volunteered many years working with the Red Cross Blood Drive.
Jacqueline is survived by two sons, Michael and his wife Nancy Mala of Southington, and Gary and his wife Sheryl of New Britain. Jacqueline had four grandchildren, Alayna Mala of Greenwood Delaware, Christopher Mala, Katherine and her husband Matthew Cary, Alicia and her husband Gary Miller, and three great grandchildren Miles Cary, Bryce Miller and Cole Miller. Jacqueline has two step grandchildren, Philip and his wife Sarah Serafino and Lauren Serafino.
Jacqueline had a very special “check in Guy” Hubie Barnes, who was a forever loving friend of the family.
Jacqueline had very special neighbors Barbara and Georgina who helped her tremendously while she was living in Southington.
During the last year Jacqueline resided with her son Gary and his wife Sheryl in New Britain.
Jacqueline is predeceased by her brother William Stinson Jr., sisters Dorothy Kaminsky and Ruth Haferstat, along with several nieces and nephews.
Her funeral will be held Monday, October 16th, at 8:15 A.M. from the DellaVecchia Funeral Home, 211 N. Main St. Southington to St. Aloysius Church, 254 Burritt Street, Plantsville for a Mass of Christian Burial at 9:00 A.M. Burial will follow at St. James Cemetery in Naugatuck beside her beloved husband Alfred. Calling hours will be Sunday, October 15th from 2:00-4:00pm at the funeral home.
