

Born on October 8, 1930, in Meriden, he was the son of the late James H. and Mary C. (Talmadge) Berry.
Jim proudly served his country with honor and dedication, serving twelve years in the United States Air Force followed by eight years in the United States Navy. After his military service, he worked in the security department at Pratt & Whitney Aircraft, where he remained until his retirement. A man of faith, Jim was a devoted member of Thrive Southington at Faith Living Church.
He is survived by his sister, Kathleen Hexter of Canterbury; his two sons, James L. Berry of Cedartown, Georgia, and Daniel P. Berry and his wife Denise of Powder Springs, Georgia; eight grandchildren; several great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews. In addition to his wife, he was predeceased by his sister, Clara Frasier.
A funeral home service will be held on Wednesday, February 18, 2026, at 11:00 a.m. at the DellaVecchia Funeral Home, 211 North Main Street, Southington. Burial with military honors will follow in Oak Hill Cemetery, Southington. Calling hours will be held prior to the service from 9:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m. at the funeral home.

Jim will be remembered for his service to his country, his devotion to his family, and his steadfast faith.
