Jan Dobrodziej

Jan Dobrodziej, 74, of Southington, passed away peacefully at home on Friday, August 27th. Jan was born Sept. 22, 1946 in Poland, a son of the late Zofia and Maciej Dobrodziej, a brother of the late Rozalia, Jozef and Stanislaw Dobrodziej. He was the beloved husband of Barbara (Gajc) Dobrodziej.

Jan worked many years as a machinist. He enjoyed spending time with the grandchildren, always helping others, going to the beach and listening to classical music. Jan and his wife Barbara would also enjoy traveling between the United States and Poland throughout their marriage.

In addition to his wife, Jan is survived by his brother, Marian Dobrodziej, step-daughter Alina Friend and her husband Walter, step-son Dariusz Chalinski and his wife Mariola of GA; grandchildren Abigail, Paul, Monica, David, Adam, and Jessica.

A Funeral Mass will be held on Friday, September 3rd, at 1:00 pm at Immaculate Conception Church, 130 Summer St., Southington. Burial will follow in Immaculate Conception Cemetery. Calling hours will be on Thursday, September 2nd., from 6:30-8:30 pm at the DellaVecchia Funeral Home, 211 N. Main St. Southington.
