Jean S. (Vono) Hall, 82, of Southington, CT, formerly of Bristol, passed away peacefully at her home on January 6, 2026, surrounded by the love of her family. Born on August 9, 1943, in Bristol to the late Ralph and Susie (Laudati) Vono, Jean lived a life marked by warmth, generosity, and an unyielding devotion to her family and community. She was the beloved wife of the late Lawrence Hall for over 58 years.
For over 15 years, Jean worked as a dedicated nurse’s aide, offering compassion and care to countless patients. Known for her giving nature, she always had a kind word, a helping hand, and an open heart for those in need. Outside of her professional life, Jean found joy in simple pleasures, from daily exercise to the sweet sounds of music, especially the classics of Steely Dan and Janis Joplin, which were a soundtrack to her soul.
Jean was an avid lover of nature, with a particular fondness for bird watching and the beauty of Misquamicut Beach in Rhode Island, where she often sought peace and reflection. In her quiet moments, Jean also found solace in reading and watching her favorite TV shows, including The Price is Right and Two and a Half Men.
Above all, Jean’s greatest joy came from her beloved grandson, James, who gave her a new lease on life. His presence was a light in her world, and her love for him was immeasurable.
Jean attended St. Anthony’s Church in Bristol for many years, where she found comfort and strength in her faith. She is survived by her two children: Jennifer Hall and her husband, David Burnham, and Aaron Hall and his partner, Kerry Langlais; her cherished grandson, James Hall; her brother, James Vono; and her sister, Linda Galati who although were her siblings by blood, were truly her very best friends. She was preceded in death by her brothers, John Vono and Ralph Vono Jr., and her sisters, Roseann Pellegrini, Antoinette Welch, and Anne Marie “Chickie” Burgoin.
At Jean’s request, all services will be held privately and at the convenience of her family. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made in her name to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital by visiting www.stjude.org
