He was born August 12, 1924 in Southington, CT, the son of the late Salvatore and Tommasina (Rugerio) Mariconda.
James received his Master Degree from Columbia University, NY and taught Business Education in Sayville Public Schools for 38 years before retiring. He was a veteran of WW II serving in the US Air Force.
In addition to his wife he is survived by a daughter Anne Marie Mariconda of Bayport, NY and a son David Mariconda of Tappan, NY along with nephews Ernest Manfred of Mystic CT, and Thomas Manfred of Coram NY.
He was predeceased by his five sisters, Julia DeMayo, Mary Mariconda, Fanny Janazzo, Palmina Manfred and Louise Mariconda.
A Mass of Christian burial will be held Monday, 10:30 am at St. Thomas Church, 99 Bristol St. Southington, masks are required along with social distancing. Burial with military honors will follow at St. Thomas Cemetery. There are no calling hours. DellaVecchia Funeral Home, 211 N. Main St., Southington has been entrusted with the arrangements.
