Born January 1, 1940 in Jersey City, NJ, he was the son of the late
John J. II and Rose (Leahy) Howard.
John was in charge of East Coast Sales Development for Smurfit-Stone, retiring in 2010.
In addition to his wife he leaves his children, Kevin Howard and wife Peggy of Canann, NH; Kerry Howard of Southington and Keith Howard and wife Allison of Pittsfield, MA; a sister Lorraine Cahalane of Hazlet, NJ; two grandchildren, Sarah Hart and husband Kevin of Etna, NH and Jonathan Howard of Pittsfield, MA and a great-granddaughter Ciara Hart. He also leaves several nieces and nephews.
A funeral service will be held on Saturday, August 30, 2014 at 3:00 p.m. at the DellaVecchia Funeral Home, 211 N. Main St., Southington. Burial will be at the convenience of the family. Calling hours will be Saturday from 1 p.m. to 3 p.m.
