
Born in Van Buren, ME on February 28, 1917, she was the daughter of the late Bellany and Celina (Bredeau) Vaillancourt. She was a Southington resident for most of her life and a parishioner of St. Thomas Church where she taught catechism. Katherine was a true homemaker and had many talents. She taught herself to play several musical instruments, she had an extraordinary penmanship and was an avid bowler.
Katherine is survived by five daughters Phyllis Cyr and her husband Hector of East Hampton, Rita Keegan of Southington, Yvette Palmieri and her husband Anthony of Southington, Jeanette Fullerton and her husband Herbert of South Meriden, Simone Gould and her husband Michael of Meriden, one son Simon Cyr and his wife Rachel of Southington, a granddaughter who she raised from childhood Katherine Cyr of Piston, GA twenty-six grandchildren, many more great grandchildren, and a brother Mitchell Vaillancourt of Brunswick, ME. Besides her husband Katherine was predeceased by a daughter Ann Cyr, a son-in-law William Keegan, a grandson Darius "Jr." Pelletier and seven siblings.
Funeral will be at 9:45 a.m. on Saturday May 17, 2008 from DellaVecchia Funeral Home 211 N. Main St. Southington to St. Thomas Church for a Mass at 10:30. Burial will be in St. Thomas Cemetery.
