

Lois Alix, of Southington, CT, passed away after a long illness on July 11, 2012 at Yale-New Haven Hospital. She was born November 18, 1948 the daughter Evard and Geraldine McIntyre in Presque Isle, ME. She graduated from Bristol Eastern High school in 1967. On May 27, 1978 she married Raymond F. Alix in North Haven, CT. She spent 15 years working for Southern New England Telephone Company, 14 years as a school crossing guard for the Meriden, CT police department. She retired from Hancock's Pharmacy after 14 years. She loved collecting teapots and posting pictures of her only grandson. She had a unique and dry sense of humor and loved to laugh. She loved her Lord and Savior Jesus Christ and it showed in the way she loved and cherished her family and friends. She was a member of Calvary Advent Christian Church in Bristol. She spent many years serving the Connecticut Advent Christian Camp Meeting Association. She is survived by her husband of 34 years, Raymond of Southington; her daughter, Liane and her only grandson Stuart of Winsted; her son, Reverend Michael Alix and wife, Erica of Waterville, ME; her brother, Reverend Floyd McIntyre and wife Linda of North Springfield, VT; a brother-in-law, Steve Alix and wife Evelyn; sister-in-law, Jane Rancourt and husband, Roland, of Meriden; and a number of nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her father, Evard and mother, Geraldine and a beloved sister-in-law, Margaret. Viewing hours will be held at Della Vecchia Funeral Home in Southington on Sunday, July 15 from 4pm-7pm. A service will be held at Della Vecchia Funeral Home in Southington at 11am on Monday, July 16. Burial will take place following the service at Oak Hill Cemetery in Southington.
