Louis P. Antonelli

Southington- Louis P. Antonelli, Sr.,90, died Monday April 9, 2007 at Hospital of Central CT Bradley Campus. He was the husband of the late Maria (Ruscito) Antonelli.He was born May 17, 1916 in Johnston, RI, son of the late Salvatore and Angela (Montenaro) Antonelli. He had retired from Armstrong Rubber Co. in West Haven. Mr. Antonelli was veteran of WW II serving with Merrill?s Marauders, an all volunteer unit and fought behind enemy lines in Burma. He received the Purple Heart and the Bronze Star. Mr. Antonelli had been a parishioner of St. Dominic Church and was an avid Yankee fan.He is survived by a son Louis P. Antonelli Jr. of Southington and a daughter Lynne Clay and her husband Vaughn of Ocean, NJ, 3 grandchildren, Cheryl Ruggiero of Durham, Paula Murphy of Middlefield and Steven Antonelli of Southington and 6 great grandchildren.The Funeral will be held Wednesday 11 a.m. at the DellaVecchia Funeral Home, 211 N. Main St. Burial will be at St. Thomas Cemetery with military honors. There are no calling hours.
