Maria was born on May 29, 1958, in Lentini, Siracusa, Italy. She was raised in Hartford, CT by Sebastian and Maria (Farinella) Correnti.
Maria had a deep love for animals and plants, often nurturing both with gentle care and devotion. She had a true talent in the kitchen—her homemade cutlets, sauce, and meatballs were legendary among those lucky enough to taste them. Food, for Maria, was an expression of love.
She was a sweet soul—never angry, always approachable, and endlessly kind. She had a carefree spirit, a warm heart, and a particular fondness for sweets and chocolate that reflected her joyful and simple pleasures in life.
Maria will be remembered for her gentle nature, and her ability to connect deeply with others.
She is survived by her daughter and son-in-law, Leslie and Joseph Guarino of Wethersfield, grandchildren Lennon & Joey Guarino, her brothers, Guiseppe, Antonio & Salvatore Tuzza, and her sisters Carmela & Rosa Tuzza all of Lombardy Italy and numerous nieces and nephews. She is predeceased by her parents, Sebastian and Maria Correnti and her significant other of over 20 years Nicholas Olenechuk.
Services are private and at the convenience of her family. She will be laid to rest with parents in Mount Saint Benedict Cemetery, Bloomfield.
