MaryAnn (Mongillo) Stevens, 92, passed away on September 30, 2023 at the Hospital of Central Care in New Britain. She was the wife of the late Ferris Stevens for 71 years before his passing in 2020. She was born in Southington, CT on March 24, 1931, the daughter of the late Ben and Anna (Krol) Mongillo. MaryAnn leaves five children, Holly Malczyk and her husband Edward of Southington, Richard Stevens and his partner Judy of Southington, Donald Stevens and his wife Robin of Cape Canaveral, FL, Mark Stevens and his wife Debra also of Cape Canaveral, FL, and Michael Stevens and his wife Eileen of Southington, 13 grandchildren, 17 great-grandchildren and 1 great great-grandchild, a brother Robert Mongillo of Southington and many nieces and nephews. She will be missed by her feline companion, Cosmo, and her dear neighborhood friend Sophie Gachewicz. MaryAnn was predeceased by her parents, sister Lorraine DeBishop, brother, Ben Mongillo, and daughter in law Cathy Stevens. Special thanks and appreciation to her caregivers especially Dr. Joseph Babiarz. MaryAnn prided herself on being the oldest passenger on the Tuesday’s senior shopping bus. Thank you to the Calendar House Senior Center for providing this service. She was an artist and leaves behind her spirit in her artwork which she shared with caregivers, family, friends and strangers! Calling hours will be held on Friday, October 13, 2023 from 9:30 AM to 11:00 AM at the DellaVecchia Funeral Home, 211 N. Main St., Southington, CT 06489 with a funeral home service at 11:00 AM in the funeral home. Burial will follow in St. Thomas Cemetery. Family and friends are invited to a Celebration of Life Luncheon following the burial.
