Megan McAllister O'Grady

Megan McAllister O’Grady, 32, of Southington, passed away in an auto accident on November 1st. She was born July 2, 1982, the daughter of Richard and the late Mary (Gavagni) O’Grady of Southington. She is survived by her son Cameron Mahaffy, 11, who she loved and was very proud of.

Megan graduated from Southington High in 2000. She was a devoted mother and loved children; often taking care of other’s as well. She was strongly loyal and protective of those she loved. Megan loved her family and friends, her Irish heritage, animals, snowboarding and going to the beach. Despite the challenges life handed her she had a wonderful smile, loved to laugh, and make others do the same.

In addition to her father and son she leaves her grandfather, Norman O’Grady of Louisville, KY, aunts and uncles; Joseph Gavagni and his wife Trisha of Southington, Margaret and her husband Robert Duggan of Ashland, KY, Jim O’Grady and his wife, Sue, from Fort Collins, CO, Kathleen Mulhall and her husband Dan of Laurel, MD, Mary Bischoff of Louisville, and Kay O’Grady of Anchorage, AK. She also leaves seventeen cousins that she loved to visit whenever possible and follow on Facebook.

She was also predeceased by her brother Collin O’Grady and her uncle Thomas O’Grady.

A Mass of Christian burial will be held on Friday at 10:30 a.m. at St. Dominic Church, 1050 Flanders Rd., Southington. Burial will be at the convenience of the family. Calling hours will be Thursday from 6 to 8 p.m. at the DellaVecchia Funeral Home, 211 N. Main St., Southington.
