Born February 15, 1926 in Meriden, she was the daughter of the late Lewis and Millicent (Hartson) Cowles.
She was a member of the First Baptist Church.
Mildred is survived by her daughter, Pamela Czaja of Southington; a sister Barbara Bates of Avon Park, FL and a grandson, Scott Grigerek and wife Liesl of Killingworth along with several nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by four sisters, Evelyn Maiellaro, Vivian Sepanik, Lois Caraglior and Joan Melnick.
A funeral service will be held on Wednesday, January 7, 2015 at 6 p.m. at the DellaVecchia Funeral Home, 211 N. Main St., Southington. Burial will be at the convenience of the family. There are no calling hours. In lieu of flowers donations may be made to the CT Humane Society, 701 Russell Rd., Newington, CT 06111 or the CT Audubon Society, 1361 Main St., Glastonbury, CT 06033.
