Nelson Chadbourne

He was born October 27, 1939 in Bridgton, ME, the son of the late Guy and Bessie (McGinty) Chadbourne.

Chad was a graduate of Bridgton H.S. and played 4 years of football. He was a veteran of the U.S Army serving as a medic. He retired from Pratt & Whitney Aircraft after many years of service. Chad was a member of the Blessed Hope Advent Christian Church and the American Legion Post 72. He was a Camp Faithful volunteer and a weekly volunteer for the VA Newington Campus.

He was known for his kindness to others, helping everyone he knew. He loved to fish and go sightseeing with his brother-in-law, Marshall and sister Violet.

He is survived by a brother Guy and his wife Helen Chadbourne of Bronx, NY, nieces, Marsha White of Peru, ME, Susan Westcott of Buxton, ME and Janice Umbro of Swampscott, MA; nephews, William and his wife Rhonda Sinclair of Mexico, ME and David Sinclair of Peru, ME.

He was predeceased by a brother Herbert Chadbourne, a sister, Violet Sinclair and husband Marshall and a nephew Mark Sinclair.

A graveside service will be held on Wednesday, Feb. 4th at 10 a.m. at the CT Veterans Cemetery, Bow Lane, Middletown. A memorial service will be held on Saturday, Feb. 7th at 1 p.m. at the Blessed Hope Advent Christian Church, 1516 Sumner Ave., Springfield, MA. There are no calling hours. The DellaVecchia Funeral Home, 211 N. Main St., Southington is assisting the family.
