Nina D. Brennan

Nina graduated from Southington High School in 1969 and New Britain School of Cosmetology in 1972. Nina was a hairdresser for 48 years and the owner of "The Looking Glass" salon building friendships too important to be called clients. Nina enjoyed going to the Theatre, gardening, reading, yoga, and DANCING! Nina loved to dance! She especially loved spending time at Old Saybrook, boating on Candlewood Lake and the Connecticut River with her family. Above all, Nina especially loved her family, friends, and really enjoyed entertaining them. And she was a tremendous host.

Nina was predeceased by her parents, Rosario and Elena (Resse) DeAngelis and her sister Marie. Nina is survived by her husband, James (Jim), sons, Patrick and Brian (daughter-in-law Samantha), daughter, Katie Hinckley (husband Tim), and her beloved grandchildren, Kyle, Cole, and Kennedy, sisters, Karen Sheppard (husband Jim), Christine DeAngelis, and brother, Bobby DeAngelis (Laurie McIntyre). It would be remiss not to mention in particular her sisters, Karen and Christine and her sisters-in-law, Amy Brennan and Terri Freer for their tremendous support given to her family and the many, many cousins, friends, and neighbors that she loved dearly but there are just too many to list. Nina and our family really appreciated the love, support, and caring that they gave us particularly during this past year. Lastly, our sincere gratitude and thanks goes out to Dr. Sarah Goldberg of Yale who treated Nina with loving care for several years and Hospice of Wallingford (Christelle and Vickie especially) who provided Nina with wonderful care, love and support.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at St Aloysius Church, 254 Burritt St. Planstville on Friday, June 28th at 11 a.m. Inurnment will follow in the St. Thomas Cemetery Columbarium. Calling hours will be Thursday from 4-7 p.m. at the DellaVecchia Funeral Home, 211 N. Main St., Southington.
