Rita Collings

Born October 28, 1919 in Stratford, a daughter of the late Edward and Florence (Poissant) Goudreau.

Rita was employed for many years at Remington Arms and Housatonic Community College until her retirement

She is survived by a daughter Linda Bulmer and her husband John of Alexandria, VA; a daughter-in-law, MaryBeth Kelly Collings of Avon; a sister, Edna Lurix of FL; 5 grandchildren, Jason, Kathryn, Brett, Travis and Morgan; 3 great grandchildren, Hannah, John and Grant, along with several nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by a son Brian N. Collings; a brother, Normand Goudreau and two sisters, Elsie Roberts and Jeannette D'Arcy.

The funeral will be held on Friday, Dec. 28, 2007 at 10a.m. at Mary Our Queen Church, 248 Savage St., Plantsville. Burial will follow in Lawncroft Cemetery, Fairfield, CT. There are no calling hours. In lieu of flowers donations may be made to the American Cancer Society, 538 Preston Ave. Meriden, CT. 06450-1004.
