
Born in Orange, New Jersey on September 19, 1929, a son of the late Edward and Mary (Ryan) Gannon, Bob was the husband of Janice (Quinn) Gannon and had recently celebrated 48 years of marriage. Together they raised four children. Bob was a veteran of the Korean War. Until his retirement, he was the president of G&L Waterworks Supply Corp. of Cheshire.
He attended parochial schools in New Jersey, he also attended Boston College, where he earned a certificate in Waterworks Administration. He was a member of Naples, Florida Elks Lodge, Naples Moose Lodge, was an honorary member of the Florida Sheriffs Association, and a Kentucky Colonel. He was a former member of both the New England and American Waterworks Association and had served on the Conservation Commission of Southington.
Besides his wife, he is survived by his four children: Maura E. Dillon and her husband Walter ; Mark W. Gannon and his wife Marian, all of Plantsville; Deirdre A. Cop and her husband Stanley ; and David C. Gannon all of Southington. He also leaves six grandchildren: Neal, Courtney, and Kathleen Dillon; and Andrew, Maureen, and Kevin Cop. He was predeceased by his two brothers: Edward and John Gannon; and his sister Mary Baul.
The funeral will be on Monday at 9:15 a.m. from the DellaVecchia Funeral Home,211 N. Main St. to St. Aloysius Church at 10 a.m. for a Mass of Christian Burial. Burial with military honors will be in St. Thomas Cemetery. Calling hours will be on Sunday from 3-6 p.m.. In lieu of flowers a donation may be made to Dana-Farber Cancer Institute and The Jimmy Fund, 10 Brookline Place West, 6th Floor, Brookline, MA 02445-7226.
