

Roger E. Modeen, 92 of Southington passed away peacefully at home on Saturday, November 25, 2023, surrounded by his family. He was the loving father of Cheryl Paden (Barry) of Southbury; grandfather of Carley Paden, Lindsay (TJ) Gentile and Chelsea Paden; great grandfather of Hailey and Anthony Gentile and several nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his loving wife Ruth N. Modeen, his parents Douglas and Madeline Modeen, his brothers Lawrence Modeen, Charles Modeen, Russell Modeen and his sisters Elaine Curtis and Carol Hay.
He was also predeceased by his very special friend Irma Meisterling. They had a wonderful five years of love and good times. A loving part of our family.
He graduated from Bristol High School and was a graduate of the University of Hartford. After many years as a career accountant, he retired from Eversource in 1992.
He was a parishioner of St. Paul’s Episcopal Church in Southington.
He recently moved to Southbury to live with his daughter and her husband Barry. Many wonderful holidays, birthdays and family gatherings were had.
He was a most devoted and loving father to his daughter Cheryl. His granddaughters were a light in his life. His great grandchildren gave him so much love and happiness.
He loved working on his computer, playing and watching golf. He was a Boston Red Sox fan and a huge UConn Women’s Basketball fan.
The hospice team from RVNA were very supportive of both him and his family. His CNA Bukky was his wonderful companion for six months. She treated him with such dignity, respect and care.
A memorial service to celebrate his life will be held on Saturday, January 20, 2024 at St. Paul’s Episcopal Church in Southington, CT at 1:00 PM. Burial will follow at South End Cemetery in Southington.
