Born August 22, 1926 in New Britain, she was the daughter of the late Ernest and Ruth (Lehman) Atwater. Shirley retired from CL&P and was a member of the first congregational Church.
Besides her husband she leaves a son Jeff Zigmont and his girlfriend Bonnie McLean of E. Hampton; Her twin sister Roberta Barrett of Southington and a granddaughter Kathy Zigmont.
The funeral will be held on Tuesday, July 27, 2010 at 11a.m at the DellaVecchia Funeral Home 211 N Main St. Southington.
Burial will be in Oak Hill Cemetery. Calling hours will be Tuesday morning from 10a.m. to 11a.m. .
