

Born in Waterbury on June 22, 1936, he was the son of the late Thomas and Vallie (Sankey) (Hickox) Hill. He served in the US Marine Corp. He was a commercial truck driver for several companies and eventually worked independently. He also was a member of the Wolcott Volunteer Fire dept. Co 3 for many years and two of his sons followed that path.
Tom was a man who enjoyed the simple pleasures in life, like reading the newspaper, eating and taking a nap.
Besides his wife of 57 years, he is survived by his four children, Douglas Hickox of Winsted, Debra Remesch of Andover, Gregory Hickox of Wolcott, and Jeffrey Hickox of Waterbury, three grandchildren Kayla Hickox, Alexandria and Sonia Remesch, a great granddaughter Skylar Nova, and a sister Charlotte Sova of Meriden. He was predeceased by a sister Marjorie Scott.
Memorial Calling hours will be on Saturday, January 5, 2019 from 12 to 3 PM at the DellaVecchia Funeral Home 690 Woodtick Rd. in Wolcott. Burial with military honors will be in the spring in Edgewood Cemetery. Visit www.dellavecchiafh.com for online condolences and directions.
