

Vittoria (Valentino) Altieri, 85, of Southington, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, February 18, 2026, at The Summit at Plantsville, surrounded by her loving family. She was the beloved wife of Jerry Altieri.
Born on June 21, 1940, in Dragoni, Italy, she was the daughter of the late Angelantonio and Francesca Valentino. Vittoria was the youngest of six children, when at eighteen months her mother passed away. She was adopted and lovingly raised by Antonio and Alba Sperti. Although she did not share a home with her biological family, she maintained a close relationship with them throughout her life.
Vittoria and Jerry were married in Italy in 1963. Jerry came to America first to secure work and Vittoria followed in 1965, they settled in Southington and started a family. Vittoria was a talented seamstress who would make beautiful outfits for herself, her daughters and many others. She never left any purchased items unaltered as nothing purchased was made or fit properly in her eyes.
Vittoria enjoyed spending time with family and friends. Most Saturday nights were spent playing cards or out dinner with friends. She especially cherished the memories made on the many vacations she and Jerry shared with special friends, Frank and Mickey Fragola.
In addition to her husband Jerry, she leaves her two daughters, Immacolata “Tina” Testa and her husband Mark, and Alba Cocozza and her husband Raymond, all of Southington; seven cherished grandchildren, Tony Testa (Lauren), Jerry Testa (Shannon), Gillian Behrendt (Brendan), Mark Anthony Testa, John Luke Testa, Raymond Cocozza Jr., and Frank Cocozza; and three great-granddaughters, Grace, Nell, and Elliott Testa.
She is also survived by three brothers, Demetrio Valentino (Luisa) of Switzerland, Angelo Valentino (Rosella) of Italy, and Pasquale Pedone (Raffaela); two sisters, Ida DiCostanzo of Italy and Regina Lucatino (John) of North Haven; three sisters-in-law, Molly Bertuca, Anna Colaccino (Joseph), and Mary Serafino (Peter), all of Southington; as well as many cherished nieces and nephews.
She was predeceased by four brothers, Raffaele, Pasquale, Luigi, and Elvio Valentino, and two sisters, Ada Foster and Teresa Pedone, and a brother-in-law, Gus Bertuca.
Her funeral will be held on Thursday, February 26, 2026, at 10:00 a.m. from the DellaVecchia Funeral Home, 211 N. Main St., Southington, to St. Dominic Church, 1050 Flanders Rd., Southington, for a Mass of Christian Burial at 11:00 a.m. Burial will follow at St. Thomas Cemetery, Southington. Calling hours will be Wednesday from 4:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. at the funeral home.
Jerry and his daughters would like to thank all our family and friends for their love and support.
