February 8, 1917 – March 4, 2019
Passed away peacefully at the Woodlands of Sunset, Welland on March 4th, 2019, Alfaretta Minnie Bryers (McComb) after celebrating her 102nd birthday on February 8th. Alfaretta was born in Cleveland Ohio, February 8, 1917 to Frank and Vera McComb as was her sister Vera (deceased 2008). Her early years were spent at community beach area of Stoney Creek. As a young woman, Alfaretta accepted Jesus Christ as her personal Lord and Saviour. At a church group she met Stan Bryers and they married in October 5, 1940 and celebrated 51 years of marriage before Stan’s death in 1991. Stan and Alfaretta were long time members of Calvary Church in St. Catharines.
Beloved mother to children, Cheryl Vangameren (Roland), Bob (Jean), Gord (Dawn); grandchildren Debbie Giguere, James Bryers and Victoria Bryers. Cherished great-grandma-nana to great-grandchildren: Christopher, Matthew, Daniel, Samantha and Michael Giguere.
Special thank –you to the entire staff at Woodlands Nursing Home, Dr. Ali and the loving attention given by the caregivers of cedars.
