With deepest sorrow, the family of Catharine Elizabeth Chapman announces her passing on Monday, February 4th, 2019 in her 92nd year. Beloved wife and best friend of the late Howard Edward (Ted) Chapman. Devoted mother of Cheryl (Brian) Banfield and Lynn Chapman. Loving grandmother of Christina (Mike) Dainard and Matthew Banfield and special great-grandmother of Joshua and Jackson Dainard. She will be fondly remembered by her brother-in-law Peter Peters and her niece and nephews. Daughter of the late John and Margaret Boyle, sister of the late Janet Dunlop and Barbara Peters and sister-in-law of the late Lorne and Dorothy Chapman.
She was a lifelong member of St. George’s Anglican Church and a proud past member of the Bishop Beattie Fellowship and Altar Guild and served on the Parish Council. She will always be remembered for her total devotion to her family and always making our family get-togethers special with her fine china and gourmet cooking.
The family would like to thank Dr. Rosenberg and his Office Manager, Tammy, the great nurses (Shyrell and Charlene) of St. Elizabeth’s, Dana from CCAC/LHIN and Care Partners for their support. We would also like to give a special thank you to Sandra of Sandra’s Home Healthcare and her devoted staff, especially Margaret and Kim for their support during Catharine’s lengthy illness. Thanks also goes to the staff and nurses at the St. Catharines hospital for their excellent care and compassion.
Cremation has taken place and a private family memorial service will take place at a later date at St. George’s Anglican Church. Arrangements have been entrusted to the Hulse & English Funeral Home & Chapel.
Memorial donations may be made to the Niagara Health Foundation or a charity of your choice.
