Elizabeth Eleanor Penfound

Peacefully at home surrounded by loved ones on Thursday, December 1, 2011, in her 67th year. Loving wife of 48 years to Ron, dear sister of Stuart Cox (Yvonne) and Archie Cox (Yvonne), beloved mother of Heather (John), Brian (Cherie), Brad and her angel Stephanie with whom she is now reunited. Cherished grandmother of James, Brendan, Colton, Carter, Rachel, Shawn, Jack and Ann-Marie, and great-grandmother to Kylie. Treasured sister in law of Ann Ireland, her husband Howard and many nieces and nephews. Very special aunt to the Cox children, Ian, Emily, Lisa and Hamish. Special friend of George and Irene Halycia, and Renyrose Della Cruz who ensured her comfort during her final days. Fondly remembered by dear friends and many relatives in Scotland who, though far away, were always in her heart. She will be reunited with many loved ones including her parents Tina and Archie Cox and many of her little animals that gave her so much joy over the years: Snoopy, Tex, Woody, Pikko, Charlie Brown, Marcie, Charlie Brown II, and her very special Winnie. Eleanor, born in Scotland, moved with her family at a young age to Trinidad before immigrating to Niagara Falls, Canada in 1957. She spent her life devoted to family and friends in the Niagara Region and beyond. All who knew her loved, adored and respected her for kindness, warmth and generosity of spirit. She will be forever remembered as a Lady. She and her family will always be grateful to the Niagara Health System Renal Clinic and the wonderful caring, healthcare professionals, especially Drs. Shimizu, Lagrotteria, Minkarious, Gruber, Kitching and Keeley.

The family will receive friends at the HULSE & ENGLISH FUNERAL HOME & CHAPEL, 75 Church Street (905-684-6346), on Sunday from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. A Funeral Service will be held in the chapel on Monday, December 5, 2011 at 11 a.m. followed by cremation.
