passed away peacefully at home in St. Catharines ON on September 21, 2026, two months before her 87th birthday. She is predeceased by her loving husband, Edward Chmay (Eddie) and brothers, Barry and Bryon. Lovingly remembered by her children Christine (Brent), Kim (Bruce), and Joe; grandchildren Craig (Joanne), Byron (Sarah and great grandchildren Cole and Peyton), Erin (residing in London UK), Corey (Heather and great granddaughter Fjora), Shawn, Teydan, Tanyr, Teja and Tawny. She is dearly missed by her brothers Len (Marlene) and Rick (Wanda).
Gail was a dedicated member of the Royal Canadian Legion, Branch 24 where she served many years and will be deeply missed by many friends with whom she worked and enjoyed a good game of darts. Special thanks to the Mermaids and her neighbourhood friends who provided their love and support throughout this difficult time.
Visitation will be held at Hulse & English Funeral Home and Chapel, 75 Church St., St. Catharines Ontario on Friday, October 2, 2026 from 2-4 and 7-9 PM.
Funeral service will be held in the funeral home chapel on Saturday, October 3, 2026 at 11:00 AM
Celebration of Life will be held at the Royal Canadian Legion, 15 George St., St. Catharines on Sunday, Ontario 4, 2026 from 1-4 PM.
Cremation with a private inurnment will follow at a later date.
