

It is with great sorrow we announce the passing of Irene Edna Clement (nee Halstead) on Thursday, October 20, 2016, at the age of 96, at Tufford Nursing Home. Predeceased by her husband of 49 years; Aime Clement (1993); her mother Margaret (1962), and her father William Halstead (1963). Survived by her sons; Brian (Maxine), Gary (Lise) and Warren; grandchildren: Armanda Lambert (Ray), Barbara Thompson (Mervyn), Blair and Colleen Clement, Denise Lambert (Tammy), Jeannette Beauregard (Stephane); and her great grandchildren. Irene loved golfing, lawn bowling, playing cards and organizing activities for and with others. She was former matron at the Lincoln County Jail in St. Catharines and first female Provincial Court Officer in St. Catharines.
We would like to sincerely thank Dr. R. Harb and all of the staff at Tufford Nursing Home for their caring and support for our mother, not just in the past few days but for her extended stay at the home. Your diligence to caring and service to others has been very special.
The family will receive friends at the HULSE & ENGLISH FUNERAL HOME & CHAPEL, 75 Church St. (905-684-6346) on Monday, October 24, 2016 from 2-4 and 7-9 pm. A Celebration of Irene’s life will be held in the chapel on Tuesday, October 25, 2016 at 11 am. Cremation.
