Judith Marion Hannahson

It is with a heavy heart that we announce the passing of Judith Marion Hannahson (Schaab). She passed away suddenly on July 12th 2026 after a brief stay at the Sarnia Blue Water Hospital. She was born June 24th, 1940 in Geraldton, Ontario to parents Benjamin and Olive Schaab. Judy is survived by her adoring husband of 63 years, Alfred and her children Ted (Marnie), Shelley (Sean predeceased) and Kristie. She is survived by her brother Bud Schaab and she was the younger sister of Kathy Preston who predeceased her. She was a special and loving Grandmother to Cooper, Easton (predeceased), Tytan, Reid, Georgia, Jillian, Emily, Spencer and Chloe. She also very recently became a Great-Grandmother to Ivy. Judy will be remembered as a wonderful and kind Aunt to her many nieces and nephews. She will be greatly missed by her many Schaab family members where the annual family picnic was something she spoke about all year. Her Ipperwash Beach family will also very much miss her smile, willingness to chat and her joy of life. Ipperwash was the place she called home and where she was most happy. Judy was a very proud Graduate of the Mack School of Nursing in 1962. She spent a long career in nursing, working at the St Catharines General Hospital and for The Victorian Order of Nurses. A job she absolutely adored. Nursing was less of a career and more of a calling for her. She loved nursing and was very passionate about patient care.

A visitation at Hulse and English Funeral Home in St. Catharines will be held on TO BE ANNOUNCED with a service in the chapel directly following. Any donations in Judy's name can be made to the Heart and Stroke Foundation.
