Margaret Irene Boyle

She was born on September 19,1922 in Elphinstone, Manitoba, the fifth of six children born to Reverend Frank B. Willson and Elizabeth Willson (Shepherd). Margaret came to St. Catharines from Manitoba in 1950. She married William George Boyle in 1954 and had two children Kenneth William and Margaret Elizabeth (Peggy). She worked at Brock University from 1966-1984. Margaret was a long time member of Knox Presbyterian Church for 75 years serving as an Elder from 1994 to 2015. The church and her faith were central to her life.

Margaret was a loving wife, mother, sister and aunt over four generations. She enjoyed entertaining and hosting many fine dinners and parties. She could set a spectacular table with the mindset of using the good dishes beyond special occasions. She enjoyed traveling with family and friends and took her final trip to Winnipeg at the age of 99.

Her life was full and her longevity a gift to all who knew and loved her.

Margaret was predeceased by her son Ken in 1993 and husband Bill in 2006 after 52 years of marriage. She was the last surviving member of the Willson family, predeceased by siblings Bingley, Ken, Dorothy, Gordon and Reg. Margaret is survived by her loving daughter Peggy Boyle and numerous nieces and nephews.

Peggy would like to acknowledge the wonderful care and support provided by Margaret’s personal support workers who enabled her to remain at home until she passed away.

Funeral services will be held at Knox Presbyterian Church, 53 Church Street, St. Catharines, Wednesday May 7, 2025 at 11:00 a.m. followed by a reception. The service will be livestreamed and available at knoxchurch.com.
