May 8, 1932 – May 24, 2014
Peacefully and surrounded by family, after a daring and bold battle with cancer. Pre-deceased by brothers Freddie and Alex Burgess, sister Jean Tucson, and grandson Tommy Stevens. Survived by sisters Andrina Stafford, Elaine Pintuala, children Chris (Mary), Judy (Jim), Tammie (Steve), Corinne, Penny (George), Jim (Jennie), and Mark (Danielle). May was affectionately known as “Gramma May” to 16 grandchildren, 14 great-grandchildren and one on the way, many nieces, nephews and extended family, who will all lovingly remember May.
May was a beautiful, independent mother and friend. She was strongly devoted to family and related to all generations without judgment. She unconditionally loved and was loved dearly by her family. May was the life of the party wherever she was. She used and taught humour in all of life’s situations and left a special mark on all who knew her. May retired as a hard working and unbiased leader after many years at Pinty’s. May was a true testament to the very meaning of unconditional love which she poured out and instilled in all of her family. May’s passionate heart will be fondly remembered and dearly missed.
Respects will be paid to May in her true nature and style at the Victoria Lawn Cemetery (please meet us at the main gates), on Friday, May 30, 2014 at 11 am. Arrangements entrusted to the HULSE & ENGLISH FUNERAL HOME & CHAPEL (905-684-6346). On-line tributes may be made at www.hulseandenglish.com.
