Paul was the loving and devoted husband to wife Fran for 27 years, and the proud and loving father of Alyson. He loved his buddy, black lab Blue, and loved throwing a ball and spending time with him. Paul was Fran's soulmate, the light of her life and her best friend. Paul was devoted to his mother Carol and adored his sister Lisa. He was an avid bird lover, and enjoyed feeding many bird species in his backyard. He was a lover of nature, enjoyed woodworking, reading (especially science fiction), kayaking, making models, and spending time with his family. Paul was a quiet, intelligent, no-nonsense man who loved learning. He loved geography and history, archaeology, paleontology, historical places, and his deep passion was Rome and Roman History. He graduated from McMaster University in Civil Engineering. He worked as a senior civil engineer with Hatch for many years, previously Acres, SNC Lavelin, Monenco, and W.P. London. Paul was a member of Birds Canada and participated in the annual bird count through Cornell University. He was a supporter of the Owl Foundation in Vineland, ON.
Paul is survived by his wife Fran, daughter Alyson, mother Carol, sister Lisa (Bill), aunt Brenda (Jim), mother-in-law Heather, brother-in-law Fraser (Marlene), brother-in-law Fred (Lindy), and niece Kassaundra.
