We are saddened to announce the passing of Bob on Wednesday July 1, 2020 at the St. Catharines General Hospital at the age of 84. Loving husband of Marilyn Golden for 61 weird and wonderful years. Beloved father of Karen Weber (Gordon), Faren Golden (the late Tracey) and Michael Golden. Survived by his sister Marion Wright (Danny), Audrey Shepard and Grace Matthieu. Predeceased by 6 brothers and 3 sisters and his parents Isaac & Elizabeth Golden. He will be fondly missed by many nieces, nephews, extended family and friends.

For all who knew Bob, he loved fishing, golfing and bowling. Bob was a faithful employee of GM for 35 years. Bob gave his heart to the Lord 4 years ago.

As per Bob's wishes, cremation has taken place. The family would like to express a heartfelt thank you to the staff at the St. Catharines Hospital on 5A for all of their care and compassion. Memorial donations to the Heart & Stroke Foundation or to Gideon Bible Society would be appreciated.

Hello Marilyn,
I was so sad to hear of Bob's passing. You may remember me from Grapeview FM Church 1,000 years ago!! (My married name was Lipscombe). I love the description of your 61 weird and wonderful years together! If memory serves, that sounds just about right for you two. I always enjoyed our conversations at Church. I miss that. Every time I pass "Golden Blvd" in St. Catharines, I think of you.
Condolences to Marion and Danny, as well. What did the kids call Marion? The Licorice Lady? I can't remember.

God Bless you Marilyn.

I worked with or near Bob for many years on the West Side of the Components Plant. It was always nice to see him. He was a very good person to know. I am sure he will be missed by many.

My wife Eva and I are so sorry to hear of the passing of Bob and extend our deepest sympathies to Marilyn and the family.

We first became acquainted with Bob and Marilyn Golden and their family in April, 1971. We served as their pastors from April, 1971 - April, 1974.

We so well remember the numerous visits we made to their home as they displayed ongoing hospitality to so many people. Bob had a unique sense of humor as we recall him saying on one of those later evenings when he was feeling it was close to his bedtime, "just turn off the lights before you leave!" - only from Bob!!! We truly did enjoy the great friendship along with the many good times shared together.

Marilyn, we want you to know that our heartfelt love and prayers are with you and all your family (Karen, Faren and Michael & their families). Please feel free to be in contact with us. May the Lord bless and keep you, and cause His face to shine upon you and give you His peace! AMEN!
