Our deeply loved son and grandson was taken from us tragically on Thursday afternoon in a drowning accident. This beloved little boy with the ready smile and mischievous twinkle in his eye will be missed greatly by his parents, Ryan and Melissa Swayze of Niagara Falls; his siblings Wesley, Emily, Alex and younger brother “Baby” Ciaran; great grandmother Dorothy Swayze of St. Catharines; his grandparents Neil and Donna Swayze of Kitchener, Bev and Larry Rubicini of Fort Erie, Mel Smith and his fiancée Margaret Nash of Fort Erie; his uncles Craig Swayze of Kitchener; Edward Smith and Aunt Debbie of Fort Erie. His many great aunts and uncles, as well as, cousin Caila Swayze of Kitchener and all the cousins of the McAlpine clan; Swayze family of St. Catharines, Smith and Foley families of the Niagara Falls area who knew him as a playmate at our family picnics, Christmas and family gatherings will fondly remember his exuberance for life and good nature. Ryland is now in the loving arms and care of his two aunts; Dawna Joyce and Melanie Joy and his great grandparents who have gone on before him.
Thanks to the many wonderful neighbours who helped at the tragic time with their support, kind actions and words. Our family would like to extend our deepest thanks to the doctors, nurses and counseling staff at St. Mary’s Hospital in Kitchener for all of their efforts to try and save his life by going the extra mile and to help us cope with this tragic event. Thanks goes to the men and women of the first response units of the fire, paramedic and police services who responded so quickly to our call for assistance. To all of our friends who gave their support and kind words; we would like to thank you as well.
A private family viewing will be held at the HULSE & ENGLISH FUNERAL HOME & CHAPEL, 75 Church St. (905-684-6346).
