Passed on to Glory on the early morning of Wednesday, March 26, 2014 at his home in St. Catharines, Ontario. Predeceased by his loving wife Lorraine (nee Godin), who herself went to the Lord on April 7, 2004 and is now with Sam in heaven. Sam is survived by his eldest son Salvatore Robert Jr. “Sam” and his partner Dr. Anna Kobylecky, both of St. Catharines; his son Paul of Los Angeles, California; eldest daughter Kathy and her husband Vince Fazzari, both of St, Catharines and his grandsons Sam (of San Francisco, California) and Vince Jr., (of Toronto); daughter Goldie and her partner Jon Hamaguchi of Redwood City, California; and his living brothers Nunziato and Leo, both of Welland, Ontario and his sister Linda, of Guelph. Born in Welland on December 10th, 1929, Sam’s family lived through the depression and the war – he then joined the United States Army in 1948. He settled in St. Catharines after his military service and had a successful career as a land developer and investor. Among his accomplishments were the original refurbishment of the Old St. Catharines Court House and the donation of many of its millwork details to the new Robert Welch Courthouse chambers. Special thank you to Dr. Danny Lagrotteria and the Haemodialysis staff at SCS for their incredible care and professionalism.
