William John Holman

HOLMAN, William John – Peacefully at his home, October 6, 2004 at 68 years of age. Beloved husband of 46 years and best friend of Gail. Loving father of Jill (Gianni) Cirilli, Brenda (Joel) Chatterton and Don (Lisa) Holman; loving Poppa to Brianne, Nicole and Taylor. Bill grew up in Port Dalhousie and is predeceased by his parents Emanuel (Gus) Holman and Evelyn Marie Holman. He is survived by his sister Beverly Shurgold, his father-in-law Ed Cook and brother-in-law Kevin Cook. Bill will be greatly missed and fondly remembered by many relatives and friends. Bill retired from the City of St. Catharines in May 2001 as Purchasing Agent. He was very active at St. George’s Church as Chairman of the Outreach committee and past People’s Warden. He was a member of the Ontario Public Buyer’s Association and a supporter of Bethlehem Place. He so loved his cottage on Bass Bay always had a smile on his face and a hearty laugh that everyone knew. His greatest love was kept for his family who will so greatly miss him. You are forever in our hearts.

The family will receive friends at the HULSE & ENGLISH FUNERAL HOME & CHAPEL, 75 Church Street, 905-684-6346, on Friday from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. The Funeral Service will be held at St. George’s Anglican Church, 83 Church Street, on Saturday, October 9, 2004 at 1:00 p.m. In lieu of flowers the family requests that donations be made to St. George’s Anglican Church Memorial Fund.
