Beloved only daughter of Fred and Adele (Fitzgerald) Henderson and stepdaughter of Eleanor (Molloy) Henderson. Adored wife of the late Daniel Heagney. Mother of Phil (Barb Prosser), Rick (Kathleen), Gina (Jim Tobin), Anne Roth (Rick), John (Diane), and Adele (Mike Woolard). Grandmother of Melissa and Dan (Drew Graul) Heagney, Alex (Roth) Curtin (Rob), Adam, and Madeline Roth, Michael, Zachary (Holly), and Maura Tobin, Peter, Tom, and Katie Heagney, Nathaniel and Sam Heagney. Dear aunt and cousin.
Dot lived a long, happy life. She was devoted to her husband Dan with whom she first danced at the USO in 1942, and to their family. She enjoyed driving, bridge, theater, opera, the symphony, and the 4 o’clock group at the Algonquin apartments in Webster Groves. Dot loved old movies and old songs and could always be relied upon to remember a lyric. She was a life-long member of Holy Redeemer Parish and a proud alumna of Nerinx Hall High School and Webster College.
Huge thanks to the staff at the Dammert Geriatric Center at Our Lady of the Snows for making the last months of Dot's life joyful and filled with song. “One does not complain!”
There will be a visitation at 10 a.m. at Holy Redeemer Church (341 E. Lockwood, Webster Groves) on Friday, July 7, 2017 followed by a funeral Mass at 11 a.m. Burial at Jefferson Barracks. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Nerinx Hall High School.
