

Born in Chicago, Illinois, to Retha Cohen, Duane embraced his faith early in life at Kingsway Baptist Church.
He attended Central High School in Saint Louis, Missouri, and dedicated many years working in local factories, including Nabisco and Ronnoco. Known for his strong work ethic and unwavering commitment to his family, Duane was a pillar of strength and love.
Duane was preceded in death by his mother, Retha, and his brothers, Daryl, Ricardo, and Gerard Cohen.
He is survived by his beloved wife of 48 years, Deborah Cohen; their four children: Duane Jr., Davina, Derrick (Lisa), and Daniel; and grandchildren: Myla Dukes, Zaccari Kgosimore, and Derrick Cohen Jr. Duane also leaves behind his siblings, Donald, Denise, and Nicole Cohen; sisters-in-law, Annette Anderson, Joyce (the late William) White, Lorane Hinkle, and brother-in-law, Larry Williams, and a host of nieces and nephews.
Duane's infectious sense of humor and genuine warmth made everyone feel like family. He never met a stranger and had a unique ability to bring joy to those around him. His legacy of love, laughter, and kindness will be cherished by all who knew him.
A Memorial Visitation will be held Monday, June 2, 10-11am at Hoffmeister Colonial Mortuary 6464 Chippewa Street, 63109, followed by a Celebration of Duane's Life at 11am, officiated by Dr. Manfret McGhee.
