Born on September 29, 1950, in Minneapolis, Minnesota, Jerry was the son of Charles and Pauline Wodtke. He grew up in Minneapolis and graduated from Patrick Henry High School in 1968 and continued his education at the University of Minnesota.
Jerry built a successful career in the retail fabric industry. He began as a manager for Minnesota Fabrics and later advanced to become a district manager for Hancock Fabrics, until his retirement. His dedication and leadership left a lasting impression on colleagues and those he mentored throughout his professional life.
He is lovingly remembered by his daughters, Christa Bellock (Steve) and Amanda Rentmeester (Nick), by his grandchildren: Emily, Meghan, Charles, and Elizabeth Bellock, and Mason Rentmeester, and by his brothers, Ronald (Kate) Wodtke and Arnold (Josie) Wodtke.
Jerry was preceded in death by his parents, Charles and Pauline Wodtke, as well as an infant grandson, Joseph.
Outside of work and family life, Jerry enjoyed reading and playing golf—a pastime that brought him relaxation and joy over the years.
A memorial service and burial will be held in Minnesota; those details are still being determined.
