I worked with Scott at The Fred Astaire Dance Studio where I a student in many of his group classes. It was always fun to dance when Scott was leading the choreography. In 2007, he cast me in the Out-of-the-Box-Theatre Company's production of Moliere's The Miser. Again, I became an admirer of his talent as a artistic director and I thoroughly enjoyed working with him on The Miser. I will miss him, and I send my condolences to his family.

Scott and I went to Webster college together and moved to New York, into a tiny apartment, with three other people on a hot June day in 1968. Scott was always upbeat and had that most delightful spirit. He turned the initial struggle into a fond memory. He will certainly be missed but always thought of with love.

We will miss our 'Cuz' Jimmy.  We loved him dearly and hope his love for the theatre and Out-of-the-Box will live on in his memory.  He was such a special gentle man.  Love to Robin and Toni and family.

We are former ballroom dance students of Scott.  It's been a few years since we have taken a lesson and we had planned on returning to the dance studio.  The lovely, wonderfully talented Scott was part of our decision to return.  He was a terrific teacher, an excellent dancer and we will miss him more than words can ever say.  I still remember our last visit to the studio, a samba lesson with Scott.  Such joy!
We miss him very much.  Our condolences go out to his friends and his family.  He is much loved.

Back in 1990, Scotty taught my soon-to-be-wife and me how to ballroom dance in preparation for our wedding.  Unfortunately, Katherine left for Heaven on 9/11/01 when the first airplane hit her office in Tower 1 of the World Trade Center.  Now, sadly for us, Scotty has joined her.  I hope they'll meet up, and that perhaps, he can give her some refresher lessons!

I knew Scott Robinson as a director and will remember him for his gentle and easy approach to directing. Working with him on Rain was such a delight.  His process began and ended with a smile all the while displaying his great skill in shaping and making his vision clear.
I will miss him as he was a talented artist whose contribution and body of work made a difference in our lives.

Scott was one of the most talented directors I'd ever worked with. Had a clear vision for the work and the skill to acheive it.

Scott gave me my first showcase after surgery just last year in NYC. It was a long hot summer and he was as cool and professional as any good director must be. I'm glad for the time we worked together and for the time we were friends. Bless you Scott.

Scott gave me one of my first professional jobs and even though I was new to the professional world he treated me as an equal let me do my job while always teaching me. He was very easy to work with and it was always a pleasure to come into rehearsal. He is greatly missed.

Scott…Scott .I will miss you very much, I spoke to him up to two weeks before he passed away…..I think I’m in denial and think he’s still away .  I am so fortunate and happy that we could make him happy with his last production of “Rain.”  I would say to him “you don’t look well and we’re having a lot of financial problems why don’t we do this production later in the season…….But he would not give!  He would say “don’t worry about all of that just continue to do the acting, and I’ll work it out”!  He hung in there which made us comfortable and able to just focus on what we were doing and continue to have hope, that the show would go on…and it did! Scott was my dance teacher since 1995 and became a dear friend.  I could not understand why I was learning how to dance at this late age but I learned so much from Scott.  He was the perfect teacher and was very encouraging.  Fun, challenging, never stopped working.  Pat Vega, New York, NY

I'm shocked and greatly saddened by news The last email conveyed some concern but all and it sounded fairly upbeat. I know Scott for almost 30, I guess, I can' t even remember the exact year we met. Yet I do remember that it was at a NY audition which led to us doing "Educating Rita" for a month at the Theatre Barn upstate New York. I mention this because the memory stands out as one of the best summers I ever had. Scott was not only a wonderful director with a high sense of art, from whom I learned so much, but also a sensitive warm, open and honest human being. We had so much fun and became great friends for many years. Later on we acted together and did theater projects, the last being "Ten Nights in a Barroom."
In those early years, some of my friends mingled with Scotts many friends who were talented and intelligent, and artists of integrity. We worked creating theatre, learning, growing and having so much fun, it was one of the happiest times of my life. So much came from Scott, he was a fellow artist, a friend, and a brother. I shall miss him terribly.

Scott Robinson was like a best friend, a father, a wonderful supervisor, confidant, true honest supporter and role model for me. Whether we were in good spirits or feeling lousy he always gave me an encouraging look or words that would enable me not to sweat the small stuff and continue on in pursuit of my dreams. Whenever we worked together, be it in the dance studio or with OOTB, I loved sharing stories with Scott or a hearty laugh. Thank you Scott for sharing your life with me and for being a wonderful, dear friend. I will remember you always.

Sadly, I had lost touch with Scott after his last production in 2010. I have only known him for a few years, but loved working with him so much. He had such great energy, great love of the theater and above all, a great sense of humor that prevailed in all his work and, indeed, his life. He will be missed. Scott, I'm mostly sorry that we never had that long promised glass of scotch together.  Let me raise it now and bid you adieu.

I'm so shocked by this sad news. I new Scott was ill

I was so truly fortunate to have worked with Scott last summer on his production of "Rain", and while I only knew him for a short time, I will always remember him as a warm and giving individual, director and friend.  I will sincerely miss him...

I am a relatively "new" friend of Scott's. I've known him only a few years, and appeared in two of his recent productions in New York. We became fast friends and he invited me to be on the Board of Directors of his company. I was shocked and so saddened by his passing. We had been in touch by phone and email for his whole stay in St. Louis. We also had in common the fact that we'd both worked at the famous Municipal Opera (the "Muny") at different times. Scott will be missed for his warm, funny and classy humor, and for the hard work he gave to the theatre and to his life, which was not easy under any circumstances. I worked with Scott in "Ten Nights In A Barroom" at The Bank Street Theatre in 2008. He was a supportive, fun, easy to work with and understanding person and director, and I am shocked to hear of his passing. I also was unaware that he was from my same home state of Missouri as well. May he rest in peace.

Dearest Scott, 

Since 1972 when we met in "Gypsy", you have been such a good friend to me and to my now 15-year-old son, who adored you when he was a baby.  You were "Uncle Scott".  Your untimely and sudden death has left me shocked and saddened.  

I believe death is but a door through which we all pass to find our loved ones, healthy and whole, waiting to take us in their arms.  I hope you will be waiting there for me.  My deepest condolences to your loving friends and family in St. Louis.

I met Scott in the 1970s when he cast me in my first professional theater - first in dinner theater, then in summer stock.  He was a wonderful director and became a beloved friend. We shared many adventures, including taking his mother on a boat ride in New York Harbor, taking his sister Robyn to the NJ shore so she could see the Atlantic Ocean for the first time, ballroom dancing in an informercial, taking a cruise together to Bermuda (and renting motor scooters!), and working together in the Out of the Box Theatre Co. I loved him dearly and miss him terribly. 

My deepest condolences to his family and the kind friends who cared for him during his illness.

I think you would like me to add - a terrific actor/director/producer; and that is true!  I am glad that you were able to spend your last few months with your St.Louis family and friends that you so cherished.

I went to Webster College with Scott and lived near him for many years in New York City.  We always remained close.  Scott has many friends and theatre associates in New York City who will be shocked to learn of his passing and will miss him dearly.  On behalf of many of those friends, who may not yet have heard this sad news, I send heartfelt condolances and thanks to Scott's family and friends in St. Louis, who were so kind to him during his illness.
