

Mr. Larry Howard Brantley, 71, of Concord, NC, passed away at Tucker Hospice House on Sunday, November 3, 2024, surrounded by his loving family. He fought a long battle with liver cancer but his courage and strength carried him to the end.
Larry was born in St. Louis, Missouri on April 1, 1953 to the late Priscilla Ulrich Brantley and Luman Howard Brantley. He was also preceded in death by his brother, Joseph M. Brantley.
As a graduate of Columbia College in Missouri and a proud U.S. Navy veteran, Larry served his country honorably. He loved to travel and explore new places but his greatest fondness was for the old west United States. He was a cowboy at heart and an avid collector of all things western. He became quite the expert in that field.
Larry also loved his mini farm in South Carolina where he babied his grape orchard and his pecan trees. He spent many happy days there fishing and riding his tractor. He embraced life to the fullest every day by playing golf, going to the shooting range, playing poker with the guys, finding new music to add to his playlist, and planning more travel but his ultimate love was spending time with his family and creating many happy memories. Larry participated in Big Brothers Big Sisters organization for 12 years and is survived by his Little Brother, Xavier Colazzo, 26.
Larry is survived by his devoted and loving wife of 44 years, Jill Brantley of Concord, NC; son, Sean Karl and wife Renee of Waterloo, Il; daughters Angela Brantley and Rachel McNellie and husband Devin and grandchildren Nora and Avery; Grandchildren Mikayla Kostecki and husband Tyler of Waterloo, Il; Mathew Karl of Huntington Beach, CA; He is also survived by great grandchildren, nephews, nieces and many friends.
Larry will be deeply missed by all who were fortunate to know him and his memory will be cherished forever.
