Nancy was preceded in death by her loving husband, Charles “Sonny” Davis; her daughter, Cindy Hoy; her parents; and her siblings, Eugene Smith, Thomas Smith, and Cecilia “CJ” Campbell.
She leaves behind a loving family who will forever cherish her memory, including her children, Charles Davis, Peggy Kennedy, James Davis, and Ronald Davis. Nancy was a proud and devoted grandmother to Tasha, Tiffany, Crystal, Samantha, Chas, Taylor, Emily, Donna, Jesse, Lindsey, and Brianna, and a treasured great-grandmother to 17 great-grandchildren. She is also survived by her siblings, William Smith and Mary Newman, along with many extended family members and dear friends.
Nancy found joy in life’s simple pleasures and treasured every moment spent with her family. She loved crafting, reading, playing bingo, and playing cards. Some of her fondest memories were made during Sunday drives with all the kids, family picnics at Fort de Chartres, and adventurous outings to Six Flags St. Louis, where she and her family often held season passes and happily brought friends along for the fun. Nancy was spontaneous, free-spirited, and truly loved living in the moment. She especially enjoyed driving down the road with the windows down and country music playing loud, embracing the joy and freedom of every day.
Nancy’s warmth, laughter, and loving spirit will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved her.
